The United Cerebral Palsy School Program was recently selected as a National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) 2012-2013 School of Excellence. 62 schools around the country were given the award on June 26th.

As Dr. Jim Mullins, President and CEO said, “I am proud of Sue Knaperek and her staff receiving this award. But better than the recognition is the awareness that our school deserves the award by the daily commitment to the excellent support and education of our students.”

First founded in 1955, United Cerebral Palsy is a non-profit organization that has the area’s only day school program for children with developmental disabilities like cerebral palsy. They service the Will, Grundy, Kendall, Kankakee, Ford, Iroquois and LaSalle counties.

In total, UCP serves over 400 students and clients in Illinois.
