Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy helps the Cerebral Palsy child prepare for school by helping them adjust to this new reality in their lives. Thus it focuses on improving their ability to sit, and get around independently (crutches or in a wheelchair), perform tasks of detail, like writing. At the same time the occupational therapist, helps the child to develop normal living skills like feeding, dressing, and maintain personal hygiene. Learning these skills helps boost self-reliance and self-esteem and reduce demands on caregivers and family.
