Earlier this month, the Billingshurst charity for children with cerebral palsy won the West Sussex County Times Charity of the Year Award. The charity is sponsored by the Dame Vera Lynn Trust, an organization which provides “a specialist service to families of young children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.”

The Trust stated:

“We are absolutely delighted to have won the ‘Charity of the Year’ award at the West Sussex County Times Community awards at the Capitol Theatre in Horsham on Tuesday night, 19th November… A big thank you to Sandy Duck for nominating us for the award, Gary Shipton and Theo Cronin from West Sussex County Times for hosting the event in conjunction with Horsham District Council, and the Capitol Theatre for putting on such a great evening. Thanks also go to the sponsors of the Charity of the Year Award, the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum in West Sussex.”

“It is wonderful to be rewarded for the service we provide as a charity to all the families and children who attend our schools and to the dedicated staff at our School for Parents in both West Sussex and Suffolk.”
