In the middle of November, a benefit 5K – the Dreams Take Flight – was held at George C. Wright Municipal Park for the Krysti Bingham Cerebral Palsy Foundation (KBCPF). The foundation’s mission is “to improve and enhance the quality of life for the disabled people and their families.” Quality “Dreams Take Flight 5K” T-shirts were handed out to all participants and volunteers.
At the end of the race, the Fall Festival fundraiser for the Krysti Bingham Cerebral Palsy Foundation was held at the park.
The KBCPF, Inc. was founded by Dianne Bingham in 2001, in honor of her daughter. It was established with the goal of “help[ing] people who have been presented with the challenges of physical disabilities.” The organization seeks to meet the needs of the disabled person and his/her family. In order to achieve this, the programs seek to help its disabled consumers and families to lead more fulfilling lives by making wise choices and by interacting more effectively with others in the community.
